Indosiber.id – Central Jakarta – The Central Jakarta Metro Police have successfully uncovered a case of violent theft in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, based on Police Report Number: LP/B/463/IX/2024/SPKT/Kemayoran Police/Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police/Polda Metro Jaya. This case involved four suspects, two of whom have been arrested by the police, while the other two are still on the Wanted List (DPO). The perpetrators used sharp weapons to attack the victim before fleeing with a Honda Beat motorbike and a cellphone belonging to the victim. As a result of the attack, the victim suffered a wound on his back.
Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Central Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Rezeki Revi Respati, SH, SIK, M.Si., said that this incident occurred on Monday, September 2, 2024, at around 04.15 WIB. “The victim was cornered by two perpetrators’ motorbikes, and one of the perpetrators slashed the victim. Although it only hit the jacket, the victim suffered minor injuries. The suspects then fled the victim’s motorbike and cellphone,” he said at the Menteng Police, Central Jakarta on Monday, October 14, 2024.
The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police conducted a crime scene investigation and successfully identified the perpetrators through CCTV footage, witness statements, and information from informants. It is known that the perpetrators numbered four people who used two motorbikes as tools of crime, namely a black Honda Beat Deluxe belonging to A and a white-blue Honda Beat FI motorbike belonging to Y.
The police managed to arrest the first suspect with the initials R (15) in Cemplang Village, Serang, Banten, on October 8, 2024 at around 06.30 WIB. R acted as the executor in the theft. The location of the incident was on Jalan Cempaka Baru in front of Saie Pancoran, Kebon Kosong Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta.
During the incident, the victim was slashed by suspect Y (DPO) and given a ride by suspect F (DPO). The victim’s motorbike was then taken over by another suspect with the initials BG (19), who is currently being held at the North Jakarta Metro Police for another case. The victim’s motorbike was sold for Rp. 2,000,000 to another suspect with the initials S and the victim’s cellphone was handed over to BG.
“We are still pursuing two other suspects, Y (DPO) and F (DPO), who acted as executor and jockey. Currently, both are still fugitives,” said Kompol Rezeki. The evidence that has been secured so far is the victim’s cellphone and motorbike.
The police continue to develop the investigation to catch the perpetrators who are still on the run. “We will continue to pursue until all suspects are caught. Our commitment is to solve this case as soon as possible,” he said.
The perpetrators were charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with violence and Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning aggravated theft. The legal process for child suspects (ABH) is carried out in accordance with juvenile justice regulations, respecting their rights during the investigation.
